Russia is not advancing deeper into Sumy region: what is happening at the border after the breakthrough.
According to ТСН: In the village of Hrabovske in the Sumy region, where the border breach recently occurred, Russian troops are currently not attempting to go beyond this locality or advance deeper into Ukraine.
This was reported by the spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, during a television marathon.
Situation at the front
Demchenko noted that in December, attempts by Russian troops to expand the combat zone were recorded in the border areas of the Sumy region. However, in recent days, the occupiers have not conducted active attacks. As the spokesperson emphasized, the Russian army is suffering significant losses.
“Within the Krasnopilska community, especially towards the village of Hrabovske, the enemy has not conducted any active actions to try to go beyond this locality and advance deeper into our country's territory in the last few days,”
Evacuation of residents
We recall that on the night of December 20, the Russian army entered the territory of Sumy to the village of Hrabovske and attempted to advance towards Ryasne. Under pressure from the enemy, the Defense Forces were forced to retreat from several positions.
In addition, the invaders forcibly removed over fifty residents of the village of Hrabovske to Russian territory. Most of them are elderly people who had previously refused evacuation.
The situation remains tense, and the area continues to be under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, despite threats from the occupiers. The Defense Forces are working to ensure the safety of the population and are trying to prevent further losses among civilians in the region.
