The Rada voted for an increase in defense spending.
The Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada is not only working but also continues to make important decisions. This time, the deputies voted for changes to the Budget-2025, which foresee significant expenditures on defense.
Changes to the Budget-2025
New expenditures amounting to 412.3 billion hryvnias will be directed to the needs of the country's defense sector. In particular, it is planned to allocate 115 billion hryvnias for ensuring servicemen, 216 billion hryvnias for the acquisition of weapons and military equipment, and the rest of the funds will go to the needs of the Armed Forces.
- 115 billion UAH is planned to be allocated for the payment of monetary allowances to servicemen;
- 216 billion UAH — for the acquisition and production of weapons, military equipment, and drones;
- the rest of the funds will go to other needs of the Armed Forces.
A total of 332 MPs voted for these changes, which indicates their significance and support among parliamentarians. It is also worth noting that earlier the Verkhovna Rada supported the law on changes to the budget for the current year, indicating a systematic approach to solving the country's financial issues. At the same time, MP Ruslan Gorbenko reported the possibility of reviewing salaries for military personnel in the rear, which is also an important step in supporting the military forces.
