The Fulbright Program Council Resigns Amid Pressure from Trump's Administration.
All members of the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board have decided to resign due to interference from President Trump's administration. They claim that the administration obstructed the awarding of scholarships to individuals selected for the upcoming academic year. The board members deemed these actions unacceptable and chose to resign.
Accordingly, a representative of the State Department outlined the board members' resignation as a 'political stunt' by members of former President Biden's administration aimed at undermining President Trump. The official questioned the authority of board members, particularly regarding scholarship decisions.
At the same time, the conflict between the board and the president's administration is becoming increasingly acute, highlighting concerns about the influence of politics on educational processes and support programs for students and scholars.
