UN Security Council Holds Urgent Meeting

According to UATV: On July 27, 2023, an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council was convened in response to Russian threats in the Black Sea. The session was supported by representatives from several countries, including France, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Greece, and Latvia. Discussions focused on Russian aggression and its impact on Ukraine's civilian population. The session highlighted the ongoing risk to civilian lives and global food supply chains.

Impact of Military Action on Civilians

Since the beginning of July, 170 civilians have been killed and 1,028 wounded across Ukraine as a result of Russian attacks. In Kyiv alone, 56 civilians died and 232 were injured in July. In Odesa and its region, 26 civilians were killed and 92 wounded in the same period. These figures illustrate the severe toll on civilian safety.

Furthermore, since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, over 16,000 people have been killed and more than 90,000 wounded in Ukraine. In June and July, Russia attacked nearly 50 cargo ships, resulting in over 30 deaths.
