“After the strike, the door was blocked, and I couldn't leave, I couldn't open it, the handle has been torn off for the second time,” shared Lviv resident Alla.
Alla recalls the Russian night strikes on Lviv with horror. The windows in her apartment were blown out, and the entrance door was damaged.
“I was very scared, my heart was racing, I didn't know what to do. It was very frightening. I was home alone, I live alone. I hid between two walls, but after all the other explosions, I ran to the basement. Three explosions were clearly heard nearby,” told Alla.
Meanwhile, city resident Lyudmyla is recovering from the consequences of the Russian shelling for the second time - during the previous attack on Lviv on July 12, her house was also damaged. The woman had just repaired her windows and doors, and today they were again torn off by the shock wave.
“We are located a bit behind the building, the windows were blown out, some frames were torn away, they were open. Inside, cracks appeared in the walls, and the ceiling has cracks, everything is falling apart. You know, it's simply unbearable, it feels like it’s endless, that it never ends. Because everything was just restored, everything was back in place, we all calmed down, and again - the same thing,” told Lyudmyla.
In total, as a result of the night Russian attack in Lviv, 26 buildings were damaged.
“Several administrative buildings were damaged, as well as several business entities. More than 150 windows were blown out, and in one of our municipal kindergartens, about 30 windows were broken. We are providing compensation for broken windows and doors. We will also centrally restore the roofs. There are several buildings here that have been attacked by the Russians three times over the past year,” reported Andriy Moskalenko, the deputy mayor of Lviv.
Due to the destruction, residents of 11 apartments will have to be evacuated. The city will provide temporary housing for all affected. Additionally, people will be promised compensation for rental apartments during the restoration work.
