The jet for China returned to the USA due to Trump's trade tariffs.
The American Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, intended for the Chinese airline Xiamen Airlines, returned to the production center in the USA due to the trade war between China and the USA.
US President Donald Trump raised tariffs on Chinese imports to 145%, to which China responded with 125% tariffs on American goods, including aviation products. This became unfavorable for Chinese airlines, as the price of 737 MAX aircraft is $55 million.
Therefore, the aircraft intended for Xiamen Airlines was returned to the USA due to the new tariffs and trade instability.
China has expressed a willingness to negotiate with the US administration, but demands respect and refraining from incorrect statements from American officials.
China was outraged by the statement of US Vice President Jay D. Vance, who called Chinese peasants 'backward'.
Analysis
Prices for Boeing MAX 737 aircraft continue to rise due to the trade war between the USA and China. Chinese airlines are unlikely to purchase such aircraft from the USA, which may negatively impact Boeing's profitability.
