Ukraine emphasizes the need to identify threats that may arise from Belarus and Russia. According to the State Border Guard Service, no hostile groups have been recorded at the border with Belarus so far, but the direction from Volyn to the Chernihiv region remains potentially dangerous with a risk of escalating tensions in the fall.
«The threat will especially increase against the backdrop of the announced joint exercises involving Russian and Belarusian army units,» Demchenko emphasized.
Russia has proposed negotiations regarding the war in Ukraine to be held on the territory of Belarus; however, the President of Ukraine believes that more realistic venues for such negotiations are Turkey, the Vatican, and Switzerland.
