Poland Imposes New Rules for Ukrainians as Krakovets-Korczowa Border Crossing Undergoes Repairs.
Repairs Underway at the Krakovets-Korczowa Border Crossing
According to TSN.ua: A week-long renovation has kicked off at the Krakovets-Korczowa checkpoint, starting March 12. The construction work will lead to changes in traffic flow. On the Polish side at the Korczowa crossing, repairs will also affect the lane designated for passenger cars.
Poland’s Legal Changes for Ukrainians
Starting March 5, Poland revoked its special law for Ukrainian nationals, a move that tightens residency rules for them. Anyone who loses legal grounds to stay in Poland now has just 30 days to leave the country. These updated requirements create new challenges for Ukrainians currently in Poland, as they must closely follow the revised timelines and conditions.
As a result, the ongoing repairs at the Krakovets-Korczowa border point, combined with Poland’s legislative shift, present fresh obstacles for Ukrainian citizens planning to cross the frontier.
The construction at the Krakovets-Korczowa checkpoint could cause delays at the border, complicating travel for Ukrainians—especially amid the new residency rules. With the special law now canceled, Ukrainians who fail to depart within the allotted timeframe may face legal repercussions. This highlights the need for careful trip planning and staying informed about legal changes affecting their status in Poland.
