According to The Sun: After twelve difficult days and the death of one rescuer, 47-year-old Natalia Nagovitsyna is still stranded on the summit of Peak of Victory in Kyrgyzstan.
A friend and fellow climber, Luca Sinigaglia, 49, tragically lost his life while trying to rescue her for the second time.
A series of attempts by rescuers have yielded no results in saving the woman, who injured her leg while ascending the peak on August 12.
Several rescue missions failed to bring the female climber, who broke her leg while conquering the summit on August 12.
Due to poor weather conditions, authorities halted the search on Friday.
However, today they planned to send a group of rescuers again to search for the Russian climber after criticism for 'leaving her to die.'
Rescuers hoped to take advantage of a brief break in the bad weather for a new drone flight to the 'death zone' where she is located.
Rescuers have already set off with their last hopes of saving her.
With their departure, the last hope for her rescue now seemed lost.
Last attempts at rescue ended in failure
A representative of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan, Adil Charginov, said: 'Today the helicopter returned to its operational base.'
