Russia’s Attempt to Establish ‘Safe Zones’ Along the Border Fails to Make Headway, Ukrainian Forces Report.
Update on Ukraine’s Border Regions
According to UATV: On July 4, 2023, Serhiy Bratchuk, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, provided an update on the situation in the border areas, particularly in Kharkiv and Sumy regions. He stated that Russian troops are trying to create so-called 'safe zones', but their efforts have not been successful.
“Indeed, the enemy is trying to create what they themselves call 'safe zones',” - Serhiy Bratchuk
Bratchuk also noted that small sabotage and reconnaissance groups are active in these areas, but no significant advances have been observed from their side. The situation in Ukraine remains tense, especially along the Ukrainian-Russian border.
Developments in the Crimea Direction
Meanwhile, strikes on Russian military infrastructure continue in Crimea. Reports indicate attacks on airbases in Dzhankoi, and a terminal is burning in Kerch.
“In Crimea, as always, events are unfolding that are very interesting for the occupiers,” - Serhiy Bratchuk
He also noted that 'the Crimean front remains one of the most active', indicating ongoing combat operations in the region.
Additionally, hits and fires have been recorded at substations, highlighting persistent efforts to damage Russian military infrastructure. It is important to note that reports of the occupation of Kostiantynivka are false, underscoring the need to verify information sources during wartime. The situation in Ukraine remains dynamic and requires close attention from all interested parties.
The conditions in Ukraine’s border areas, particularly in Kharkiv and Sumy regions, point to a continuing conflict and active Russian forces. The failure to establish 'safe zones' demonstrates that Ukrainian military forces continue to resist and maintain control. Furthermore, activity in the Crimea direction underscores the region’s importance to both sides, especially in the context of military strikes on enemy infrastructure. This information confirms that the conflict remains a pressing issue, and the situation in Ukraine demands constant monitoring and analysis.
