Deferment Options Expanded in Reserve+: Scientists Can Now Apply Remotely.
New Remote Deferment Opportunities in the 'Reserve+' App
According to Novyny.live: The 'Reserve+' application has broadened the list of citizens eligible to apply for a military mobilization deferment remotely. Notably, these new options are now available to researchers and academics working at higher education institutions (HEIs) and scientific organizations. This update aims to streamline the deferment process for professionals in the scientific field.
The deferment is not limited to university researchers; it also extends to employees of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, national sectoral academies of sciences, and their administrative offices. To qualify, the Unified State Electronic Database on Education (USEDE) must contain up-to-date information confirming the applicant's primary place of employment. Additionally, the individual must hold a position of at least 0.75 full-time equivalent (FTE) and have their right to deferment verified based on their role in higher education.
Eligibility Criteria for Deferment
Furthermore, the applicant must be employed in a position classified as a scientific role. This includes:
- Research and teaching staff;
- Educators at higher, professional pre-higher, and vocational education institutions;
- Scientists involved in the educational process.
It is worth noting that just a few weeks ago, the 'Reserve+' app offered 11 types of deferments that could be processed remotely. Expanding the range of deferments available for remote application marks a significant step in supporting Ukraine's scientific community.
This development highlights the growing importance of scientific work amid the military challenges facing the country. Providing deferment access to researchers helps preserve Ukraine's intellectual capital and ensures the continuity of critical scientific research, which is vital for the nation's future development. The expanded functionality of the 'Reserve+' app also reflects the government's efforts to adapt public services to societal needs during wartime mobilization.
