Russia is preparing an information attack during exercises in Belarus: what is known.
According to FREEДOM:
Trump's diplomatic efforts are under threat
Recently, the American portal Axios reported that U.S. President Donald Trump is allegedly considering suspending his diplomatic efforts in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war, 'until one or both sides demonstrate more flexibility.'
'We will be sitting idly and watching. Let them fight a bit, and then we will see what happens,' an anonymously-source told Axios.
The main point in the article is the White House's disappointment over the lack of progress after Trump's meeting with the Russian leader in Alaska. Moreover, it is believed that Ukraine lacks the willingness to make concessions to stop the war, and Europe also bears some responsibility for this.
Interestingly, the article in Axios appeared after the Russian leader's press secretary announced the provision of security guarantees for Ukraine. Peskov emphasized that discussions about these guarantees between the U.S. and Russia should be conducted 'behind closed doors.'
'...We would not want to discuss this topic in a public format right now. We consider it undesirable for general effectiveness,' Peskov said.
The danger of such possible agreements lies in Russia hinting to Ukrainian partners and Europe about the possibility of 'closed negotiations.' Thus, the circle of participants in negotiations is reduced, and Ukraine along with European states may be excluded from the process.
Ukraine's and Europe's position
However, the Ukrainian delegation insists that any agreements regarding Ukraine without its participation cannot be accepted. Similarly, European partners also demand to be present at the negotiations.
French President Emmanuel Macron emphasizes that it is important to involve Ukraine in peace negotiations, stating:
'The future of Ukraine cannot be decided without Ukrainians, who have been fighting for their freedom and security for more than three years.'
Guaranteeing Europe’s security requires the participation of European countries in resolving the situation in Ukraine, Macron emphasized.
Information manipulations and threats
It is worth noting that the information from Axios contradicts Trump's statements, who talks about starting an 'economic war' against Russia if it does not proceed with negotiations to end the war.
Trump also confirmed that arms supplies to NATO allies who are helping Ukraine will continue.
The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Kyrylo Budanov warned that from September 12, a massive information attack is expected during the Russian-Belarusian exercises 'West-2025.'
'Disinformation will be coming absolutely from all sides. 90% will be Russian, 10%, unfortunately, others. Hysteria will be escalated,' he noted.
These exercises are aimed at practicing military maneuvers in the western direction.
It is important for Ukraine to actively counter this information campaign, clearly defending its positions and international law, preparing for future information 'battles.'
