Russia has intensified pressure on the northern borders: where the fiercest battles are ongoing.
According to ТСН: The Russian military has intensified its actions, trying to expand the combat zone in the border areas of the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. The highest tension has been recorded in the Vovchansk direction in Kharkiv region, as well as in the territories of the Khotyn and Yunakiv communities in Sumy region.
According to Andriy Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the enemy is trying to involve new sections in hostilities along the border, but is managing without heavy equipment.
Actions in other directions
In addition to border areas, units of the State Border Guard Service are also participating in repelling enemy attacks in the Pokrovsk, Lyman, Kramatorsk, and Kupyansk directions. Demchenko clarified that in the Sumy region, the Russians are trying to expand the territory of battles in the areas of the Khotyn and Yunakiv communities and are attempting to launch offensives near Hrabovske in the Krasnopill community. In Kharkiv region, enemy activity is concentrated not only in the Vovchansk direction but also near the settlements of Sotnytsky Kozachok and Dvorichanske.
The occupiers are using small assault groups, avoiding the involvement of armored vehicles. Although they are constantly attempting to advance, the Russian troops are not achieving their goals and are suffering significant losses.
Strategic importance of Kupyansk
Vyacheslav Fedorchenko, inspector of the border service of the rapid response brigade 'Vengeance', notes that enemy activity in the Kupyansk direction has strategic importance. He emphasized that the capture of Kupyansk could open up a path for the RF army to Kharkiv and the rear areas of Ukrainian forces in the Donbas.
Fedorchenko noted that Kupyansk is a key logistical hub and an important defensive line that prevents the enemy from crossing the Oskil River.
Earlier, it was reported that the Russians are trying to break through to Kostiantynivka, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine are repelling their attacks on the approaches to the city. The situation in the region remains tense, and Ukrainian forces continue to defend their positions, adapting tactics according to changes in enemy behavior.
