Russia Changes Aerial Tactics: Drones Attack from New Heights.
Russia is employing a new tactic for using drones in the fight against Ukraine, launching them from high altitudes, making it more difficult for Ukrainian air defense to respond. Instead of isolated strikes, Russia is now attacking several cities simultaneously, trying to pressure infrastructure and the psychological state of the population.
"Instead of striking here and there, they are concentrating their strikes and are able to achieve maximum effect, both kinetic and psychological," explained Melnyk.
The government has approved the proposal from the Ministry of Defense allowing volunteers to shoot down Russian drones to support air defense during the state of war for two years. President Zelensky also announced an increase in the production of domestic drones by 40% this year but noted the issue of insufficient funding. Ukraine is actively developing defense cooperation, emphasizing the importance of technologies and the use of drones in all spheres - in the air, on land, and on water.
Ukraine is facing a new threat in the form of the effective utilization of Russian drones in the war in the east of the country. In response, Ukrainian authorities are considering the possibility of strengthening air defense and note the necessity of developing their own technologies in this area.
