Stores in Poland Will Be Closed for Christmas: When and How to Shop.
According to ТСН: In the run-up to the winter holidays in Poland, many people are actively shopping and preparing gifts. However, in December, store operating hours significantly change due to a legislative ban on trading during holiday days.
On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, most stores and shopping centers will not be operating or will have significant restrictions on their hours.
When Stores Will Not Be Open
In Poland, trading is prohibited on the following days:
December 24 — Christmas Eve
December 25 and 26 — Christmas
January 1 — New Year’s Day
On these days, most supermarkets, shopping centers, and stores will be closed. The only exceptions may be small shops with a special status, such as those operating in airports, train stations, hotels, or at Christmas markets.
Until December 23, stores in Poland generally operate on a regular schedule. Additionally, in the first half of the month, there may be trading Sundays when shopping is allowed, and buyers can manage to purchase everything they need before the holidays.
These days are usually the busiest, so queues in supermarkets and shopping centers can be quite large.
From December 27 to 30, stores generally return to standard operating hours. Most retail outlets are open every day from morning until evening, but shorter working hours may be possible, especially in large shopping centers.
Customers are advised to plan their holiday shopping in advance to avoid unpleasant surprises on the days when stores are closed.
We also remind that in Ukraine, during the winter holidays, specifically on Christmas and New Year’s, there will be no weekends introduced for the banking system, as holiday weekends have been canceled due to the martial law period.
