According to Novyny.live: A sudden and severe cold front in the Odessa region has alarmed local viticulturists. Temperatures have plummeted from +10 °C to as low as -10 °C, posing a significant risk to the grape harvest. Vladimir Pechko, head of the Ukrsadvynprom association, warned that such a sharp freeze following a warm period could kill the delicate, unhardened shoots of the vines. This region is a key part of Ukraine's wine-producing heartland, making weather events here of national economic importance.

As of January 7, 2023, the Odessa area experienced temperatures around +10 °C, but they have now dropped to -10 °C or lower in some districts.
