Fourfold Difference: Ukrainians Show Real Salaries in Poland.
According to the Central Statistical Office of Poland, the average salary in the country increased by 12.4% in the fourth quarter of 2024 compared to the same period last year. The salary, before taxes, amounted to 8,477 zlotys, which is approximately 87 thousand hryvnias, and is 3.9% higher than the previous quarter's figures. Compared to Ukraine, the average salary in Poland is 20.59 thousand hryvnias per month according to the State Statistics Service as of September 2024.
It is worth noting that starting from January 1, 2024, the minimum wage in Poland increased to 4,242 zlotys gross per month, and from July 1 this figure rose to 4,300 zlotys. In comparison, in Ukraine the minimum wage is 8,000 hryvnias per month before taxes, while after taxes the employee receives 6,160 hryvnias.
Moreover, Poland is expected to experience a shortage of workers in many professions. Many Ukrainians working in Poland are there for a short time - less than six months. This indicates that labor migrants dominate among them. It is also known that more and more Ukrainians are starting to move from Poland to Germany.
