According to The Sun: Romain Grosjean will once again be behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car for the first time since the horrific crash that happened five years ago. During the Bahrain Grand Prix in the 2020 season, the driver miraculously avoided serious injuries after hitting a wall at 140 miles per hour, which resulted in his car bursting into flames.
ReutersHe survived a 67G impact, but thanks to modern safety technologies such as fireproof clothing and the halo system, he was able to walk away from the crash practically unscathed, suffering only burns on his hands.

Now, 39-year-old Grosjean is heading to test with the Haas team in Mugello. This test will be part of the preliminary car testing program, where he will try the VF-23 model that was driven by his former teammate Kevin Magnussen.
Confirming his return, Grosjean stated:
“I am incredibly grateful to Gene Haas and Ayao Komatsu for inviting me to participate in the TPC in Mugello.”
He also added:
“For me, it will be very special to return to the wheel of a Formula 1 car after almost five years.”
Grosjean also shared that his helmet during the tests will be an emotional reminder of what his daughter painted for him before the 2020 season.
“My kids created the helmet design that I will finally be able to test in a Formula 1 car on Friday.”

Last time Grosjean participated in a race at Mugello during the Tuscany Grand Prix, he crashed on the first lap but managed to finish in 12th place while eight drivers dropped out of the race.
