Drone Strike Targets Ukrainian Railway: Two Engineers Wounded in Kharkiv Region.
Russia Strikes Ukraine’s Railway Network
According to TSN.ua: Russian forces launched drone attacks on Ukraine’s railway infrastructure today, hitting locations in the Kharkiv region and the Kryvyi Rih district. Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction Oleksiy Kuleba confirmed the incidents. In the Kharkiv region, a Russian drone struck a commuter train, injuring the driver and assistant driver with shrapnel. No passengers were harmed.
In the Kryvyi Rih district, a drone attack targeted a station area, damaging a locomotive. The locomotive crew was evacuated, and no injuries were reported among them. Despite the strikes, which forced passenger evacuations due to shelling threats and infrastructure damage, Ukrzaliznytsia trains continue to operate, according to Kuleba.
Massive Attack on Kyiv
It is also worth noting that during the night of March 14, Russia launched a large-scale missile and drone assault on Kyiv and the surrounding region, resulting in four fatalities in the area. These events underscore the ongoing military hostilities on Ukrainian soil and their impact on civilian infrastructure.
The attacks highlight an escalation in the conflict and increasing risks to civilians and transport networks. While Ukrainian railway workers keep trains running, the threat of shelling remains severe. The incidents in the Kharkiv and Kryvyi Rih regions emphasize the urgent need to protect civilian assets amid ongoing combat operations, which continue to affect regional security.
