Russian Nighttime Strike on Dnipro Injures Elderly Women, Damages Homes and Factory.
Strikes Target Dnipro and Dnipropetrovsk Region
According to Novyny.live: In a nighttime assault on January 20, Russian forces struck the city of Dnipro and the wider Dnipropetrovsk region. The attack damaged residential buildings and left two women, aged 76 and 67, injured. The strikes also sparked a fire and caused damage to an industrial facility. These attacks on central Ukraine, previously considered relatively safer, highlight the expanding geographic scope of the conflict.
The bombardment affected an apartment block, infrastructure, and five vehicles. According to reports, the occupiers employed unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) in the assault. Additionally, a private house was damaged in the Novooleksandrivska community.
Shelling in the Pokrovska Community
The Pokrovska community came under artillery fire. In a significant defensive action, Ukrainian air defenders managed to shoot down 40 drones over the Dnipropetrovsk region. The ongoing use of drones and artillery underscores the persistent aerial threat faced by Ukrainian cities and the critical need for continued air defense support from international partners.
These incidents mark a concerning escalation in the region, leading to further civilian casualties and infrastructure damage. The intensifying situation demands enhanced security measures for both military personnel and civilians, as the threat from the air remains substantial.
