Collaboration between Russia and North Korea in the military field

According to ТСН: Russia may have provided North Korea with assistance in creating its first nuclear submarine. This cooperation is likely part of an informal exchange, in which North Korea supplies Moscow with military personnel and armaments for its war against Ukraine.

Expert on the armed forces of North Korea from the Korean Institute for National Unification, Hong Min, believes that without external support, Pyongyang would hardly be able to implement such a complicated project. According to the specialist, it was Russia that could have provided North Korea with critically important technological assistance in exchange for sending North Korean troops and supplying armaments for the needs of the Russian army in the conflict with Ukraine.

Hong Min also emphasized the recently published footage of North Korea's new nuclear submarine, highlighting that the submarine's appearance indicates a significant level of project readiness.

"The completed and welded hull means that they have already installed a nuclear reactor inside," explained the expert.

Comments from the specialist came after North Korean state media showcased photographs of the nuclear submarine. The images show the new submarine being inspected by North Korea's leader Kim Jong Un himself.

Earlier, it was reported that Kim Jong Un personally oversaw the test launch of a long-range surface-to-air missile that took place at a site near North Korea's eastern coast.

It was also reported that North Korea has exhausted its supplies of artillery shells for supply to Russia, which is confirmed by recent data.

Thus, cooperation between Russia and North Korea in the military field continues to increase, causing concern on the international stage. In the context of escalating conflicts worldwide, such ally relationships may influence the situation in the region and beyond, raising the risks of new military escalations.
