On March 12, the Russian army targeted railway infrastructure in the Sumy and Mykolaiv regions. In Sumy Oblast, the attack hit a train station, damaging the building, tracks, and locomotives. In Mykolaiv Oblast, a drone damaged another locomotive.

Additionally, during the night of March 12, Russian drones struck the village of Synyavka, killing a 15-year-old girl named Maria Nalyvaiko. The Nalyvaiko family home was completely destroyed. A day of mourning has been declared in the Mena community.

Andriy Kovalenko urged citizens to stay alert to air raid warnings, stating:

'The enemy may be preparing a strike, so be attentive to alerts, especially these days.'
