Ukrainian Forces Resist Four Russian Armies in Fight for Huliaipole.
Intense Fighting on the Southern Front
According to TSN.ua: The situation on the Southern Front remains critical as Russian forces attempt to seize the town of Huliaipole in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Ukrainian defenders are actively resisting the assault from four Russian armies: the 5th, 29th, 35th, and 36th. According to Vladyslav Voloshyn, Ukrainian forces in the region are effectively countering these military formations, which are attempting to establish a foothold on the territory. This area has been a focal point of the conflict in southern Ukraine for months.
The enemy is sustaining significant losses, with an estimated 300 to 350 soldiers killed daily, along with up to a hundred pieces of weaponry and equipment. The confrontation continues, with Ukrainian forces fighting to maintain control over key positions. Meanwhile, Russian troops are regrouping on the Huliaipole axis, which may indicate plans to intensify their offensive operations in the near future.
Ukrainian Counteractions and Gains
Amidst these battles, Ukrainian defense forces have also reported a success: the liberation of the village of Kosivtseve in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. However, the Russian army launched two attacks on the Olexandrivka direction, underscoring the complexity of the situation in the region. Given these events, Ukrainian defenders remain on the front lines, prepared to meet the challenges posed by the enemy.
The situation on the Southern Front is critically important for the overall strategic picture of the conflict in Ukraine. Control over Huliaipole could have significant consequences for both sides. Losing this point could complicate supply and logistics for Russian troops, while its capture by Ukrainian forces would strengthen their positions and morale. The outcome of the fighting here could influence the broader trajectory of the war.
