Russia is redeploying troops from the Sumy direction: where stronger attacks are expected.
RF strengthens its offensive in eastern and southern Ukraine
Russia is strengthening its offensive in eastern and southern Ukraine by redeploying troops from other directions. The most intense battles are taking place near Pokrovsk, Konstantynivka, and Zaporizhzhia, and attacks are also ongoing in the Kherson direction. This was told in the broadcast of the FREEДOM channel by the founder of the 'We Will Close the Sky of Ukraine' charity fund, Lieutenant General Ihor Romanenko.
'The most challenging directions, with intense fighting, are primarily the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration, as well as the directions towards Konstantynivka, towards Dnipropetrovsk, and Lyman. Recently, for about a week, the enemy has been redeploying troops, removing part from the Sumy direction and from others, to strengthen, preliminarily based on intelligence data, a grouping of 15 thousand that operates in the Pokrovsk direction,' he noted.
Also, some of the troops from the Sumy direction are redeployed by the Russian occupiers to the Zaporizhzhia area.
'There, the enemy is activating in the directions of Huliaipole, Orihiv, and has attacked Kamianske. The raiding groups [of Russians] reached Stepnohirsk. But they were expelled from the city of Stepnohirsk. So here the enemy is advancing, and heavy fighting is underway,' the analyst explained.
In the Kherson direction, as the expert noted, the enemy currently lacks resources to seize bridgeheads and conduct airborne landings, as they planned.
'However, as is known, they are inflicting losses in the southern, Korabelnyi part of Kherson. They destroyed the bridge that connects the main city with this part. Battles are also ongoing for the islands in the delta of the river [Dnipro]. The enemy is preparing for an airdrop, but lacks forces for the actual landing. Their attempts to seize bridgeheads on the right bank ended with the Armed Forces of Ukraine pushing them into the river,' Ihor Romanenko summarized.
It should be noted that the Russians are increasing pressure in the northern part of the Donetsk region. This was reported on August 20 by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi on Telegram after the results of a working trip to the units that are defending the respective sections.
The post RF is redeploying troops from the Sumy to the Pokrovsk and Zaporizhzhia directions - the situation at the front analyzed by Romanenko first appeared on Freedom.
With the escalation of aggressive actions by Russia in the eastern and southern regions of Ukraine, the situation at the front is becoming more strained. The directions of Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration, Konstantynivka, Zaporizhzhia, and the Kherson direction are particularly tense. Russian troops are redeploying their forces from other directions to strengthen the pressure, but it is noted that the enemy still lacks resources for full-scale seizure of certain territories. The situation at the front is actively analyzed by military expert Ihor Romanenko.
