Russia plans to intensify terror in Zaporizhzhia and block Kherson: what is known

According to FREEДOM:

Unusual activity of Russian troops at the front

The Russian armed forces are intensifying their actions on the southern front, trying to destroy logistics routes in Kherson and expand terror in Zaporizhzhia. This was reported by military analyst Denis Popovych on the FREEДOM TV channel on August 29.

Terror in Kherson and planned strikes

'It is known that the enemy is trying to terrorize Kherson in the Kherson sector of the front. And it is not in vain that there was information yesterday and the day before that, without extreme need, it is not advisable to travel on the 'Kherson – Mykolaiv' road, because enemy drones are very active there. And what is the 'Kherson – Mykolaiv' road? It is logistics,' he noted.

Popovych emphasized that the Russian military is trying to hit the 'Kherson – Mykolaiv' road to paralyze logistics for Kherson.

'They are trying to do this on a large scale throughout the city, where our forces are also operating. Thus, the enemy is trying to create conditions for capturing islands and establishing a foothold on the right bank,' he explained.

Situation in the Zaporizhzhia direction

Denis Popovych also noted that there is a transfer of Russian troops in Zaporizhzhia.

'The enemy is trying to intensify its actions to advance and create better tactical opportunities for shelling Zaporizhzhia. This is similar to what they wanted to do in Sumy. That is, advance closer to the city, take it under fire from artillery and FPV drones. So if FPV drones in Kherson have been operating in the city for quite some time, terrorizing local residents, hunting for specific people, vehicles, etc., then cases of FPV drone strikes in Zaporizhzhia have been recorded, but they are not as widespread,' the expert emphasized.

The expert emphasized that the enemy aims to make FPV drone strikes in Zaporizhzhia more widespread to create conditions for increased terror.

It should be noted that in the Zaporizhzhia region, an air alert lasted almost 11 hours: the Russians attacked the region with drones and missiles.

The situation at the front remains tense, and the activity of Russian troops in the southern direction raises concerns among local residents and military analysts. Given the situation in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, Ukrainian forces continue to take measures to protect the territory and logistical routes, which appears critically important in modern warfare.
