Zelensky: Russia is preparing 2025 as a year of war, not peace

According to ТСН: Russia plans to spend the next year under the sign of active hostilities, and signals from Moscow indicate that attempts to achieve peace are not real.

This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his video address.

“Today we heard further signals from Moscow that they are preparing next year as a year of war. And these signals are not only for us. It is important for partners to see this. And it is important that they not only see it, but also respond, in particular partners in the United States, who often say that Russia supposedly wants to end the war. But from Russia, a completely different rhetoric and other signals are coming - both official orders to their army,” Zelensky noted.

Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that behind the talks about the alleged readiness to end the war, Russia hides its true intentions to destroy Ukraine and legitimize the capture of territories. The president urged partners, particularly the U.S., not to succumb to Moscow's diplomatic manipulations.

“When they have such a mood, they will undermine diplomacy, trying to simply cover their desire to destroy Ukraine and Ukrainians. And then other European countries that Russia may call its 'historical lands' will also be at risk,” the president stressed.

Zelensky also called on partners to have the “courage to see the truth” and take real action in response to Russia's aggressive plans. In the opinion of the Ukrainian leader, defense against Russian aggression must be based on three components.

“We need real protection from this Russian story of madness, and we will continue working with all partners so that such protection truly exists. Security solutions are needed, financial solutions are needed, particularly regarding Russian assets, political solutions are needed. And all our partners need the courage to see the truth, acknowledge the truth, and act accordingly,” Zelensky noted.

It should be recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin threatened that Moscow would achieve its goals by military means if Ukraine and its “foreign patrons” did not agree to negotiations.

Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov cynically stated about the desire of the Russian Federation to “stop the war”, but only with the aim of achieving aggressive goals and securing its own interests.

In a situation where international partners face distrust of Russian statements, President Zelensky's calls to side with the truth take on special significance. He urges active actions to strengthen Ukraine's defense and ensure a united front against aggression that may threaten other European countries as well.

It is important for the international community to realize the seriousness of the situation and respond accordingly to Russia's actions. The time for action has come.
