Russia has raised its strategic aviation: why there was no missile strike and what the enemy is preparing.
According to ТСН: On the night of January 5, Russia activated its strategic aviation, but no missile strikes on Ukraine were recorded. Such actions may indicate planned demonstration flights of Tu-95 and MiG-31K aircraft, as well as dangerous experiments aimed at testing Ukrainian air defense.
Why the planes flew but did not strike
According to a military expert, combat aircraft are not always equipped with missiles. He explained that preparing the aircraft for takeoff requires refueling, and this process can only be monitored if there is intelligence at military airfields.
"You need to have intelligence within the military unit with access to the airfield... I believe these were indeed demonstration flights," said Zhdanov.
The expert also emphasized that landing an aircraft with heavy missiles is very risky:
"It can take off with missiles, but the aircraft must land at minimal weight... This is a very huge risk."
Experiments with drones and 'hunting' for air defense
Zhdanov also noted that one of the goals of Russia's night flights may be testing drones and adjusting strikes. He indicated that Russia could have used drones with video cameras, which operators control from a distance of up to 200 kilometers.
"There is information that the Russian Federation could have set up repeaters along the border in Belarus," he says.
The takeoff of a MiG-31K or Tu-95 forces Ukraine to declare an air alert, activating the air defense system:
"When the air defense system is activated, all radar stations 'light up' like a garland on a Christmas tree... it can adjust these drones."
Problems with missiles or different tactics
Zhdanov does not rule out that Russia may have technical problems:
"They may have problems with the missiles themselves - either with their delivery or production."
In his opinion, Ukraine will be able to repel air defense strikes if they are prepared for strikes:
"If the air defense is taken out, it will be the same as it was in the first months of the war..."
Is a massive strike possible in the coming days
When asked about the probability that demonstration flights would turn into real attacks, the expert replied:
"Maybe. Who knows what they have in mind. It's quite possible."
Zhdanov also emphasized the high efficiency of Ukrainian air defense, stating that:
"Both the 'Kinzhal' and the X-101 - our effective interception rate is almost 90%..."
Daytime terror by 'Shaheds' and a new dangerous trend
The expert noted that Russia often attacks during the day:
"I see a trend towards transitioning to round-the-clock fire damage."
He explained that during the day, it is easier for operators to adjust drones in real-time.
Political events as a trigger for strikes
Zhdanov also warns of potential strikes in the near future against the backdrop of important international events:
"I said that, most likely, we can expect..."
In his opinion, political events may activate Russia's actions.
Thus, the demonstration flights of Russian planes may indicate preparations for possible attacks on Ukraine, while factors such as the political situation and conducting experiments with drones can significantly influence the further development of events. It is important to remain vigilant and ready for any challenges from the aggressor.
