Zelenskyy Reveals Russia Launched 1,770 Drones, 86 Missiles, and 1,530 Guided Bombs Against Ukraine in Just One Week, Calling for Tougher Sanctions.
Russian Military Strikes on Ukraine
According to Novyny.live: Over the past seven days, Russian forces have carried out a massive wave of attacks across Ukraine using drones, missiles, and aerial bombs. Official figures for this period include:
- 1,770 attack drones,
- more than 1,530 guided aerial bombs,
- 86 missiles, over 20 of which were ballistic types.
These assaults have posed a severe threat to civilian infrastructure. On March 14, for instance, Russian troops struck a residential area in Zaporizhzhia, killing one person and wounding 11 others. The attack also damaged 12 apartment buildings and 12 private homes.
Ukrainian President’s Remarks
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed the urgent need to cut off the supply of missile components to Russia, stating:
'We must take away from the Russians the ability to assemble missiles at their factories.' — Volodymyr Zelenskyy
He also highlighted that 'every one of these missiles contains at least 60 foreign-made components that reach Russia through sanctions evasion.' These comments underscore Ukraine’s growing concern over security and the pressing need for measures to defend the country from ongoing aggression.
The latest Russian strikes signal an escalation in the conflict and a worsening situation on the front lines, reinforcing the importance of continued international support for Ukraine. The focus on foreign components used in missile production points to the need for coordinated global efforts to tighten sanctions and better control technologies that could be diverted for military use. This issue has become critical not only for Ukraine’s safety but for the stability of the entire region.
