The Basmanny District Court of Moscow sentenced Ukrainian TV host Yanina Sokolova in absentia, sentencing her to eight years in prison. The Moscow Prosecutor's Office reported this. The journalist justified violent actions against Russians

The first episode relates to Sokolova's interview with the Ukrainian TV channel NTA on the program "Great Lviv Speaks" in July 2022. According to the Russian prosecutor, the journalist in her speech "justified violent actions against Russians."

The second episode concerns a broadcast on the YouTube channel "Evening with Yanina Sokolova," which aired in December 2022. According to the Russian investigation, the journalist made a public statement that "forms disrespect" and "justifies violence" against Russians. The video is unavailable.

Earlier in Russia, Ukrainian Iryna Navalna was found guilty under the article on terrorism, who stated that during torture and mistreatment, she was forced to plead guilty. The girl reported that Russians tortured her with electric shocks and beatings, trying to force her to confess to preparing an explosion. The court sentenced her to 8 years in prison and a fine.

Also in Moscow, a Ukrainian woman was sentenced to 12 years for allegedly spreading "fakes" about the war and participating in a terrorist organization.
