Coordinated Overnight Assault
According to UATV: In a multi-pronged overnight attack, Russian forces targeted Ukraine using ballistic missiles and drones, resulting in explosions across several regions including Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk. This latest barrage is part of a sustained campaign targeting Ukrainian cities and infrastructure.
Impact and Casualties
Explosions were recorded in the following areas:
- Kharkiv
- Dnipropetrovsk
- Poltava
- Kyiv
- Zaporizhzhia
In Kyiv, damage was reported in three districts, though fortunately there were no casualties. Zaporizhzhia suffered 12 explosions, which killed one man and injured nine others. The strikes there damaged a shopping center, 19 apartment blocks, and four private houses.
In Kharkiv, 14 people were wounded, including a 7-year-old child, and a multi-story residential building was damaged. In Kryvyi Rih, two people were injured when a drone struck a five-story building. Poltava region saw damage to industrial facilities and private homes.
“One man was killed and nine others were injured,” reported Ivan Fedorov.
According to Ukraine's State Emergency Service (SES), 'industrial enterprises and private households were hit.' These events have heightened public anxiety, underscoring the persistent threat from the ongoing invasion.
This assault again highlights the severity of the situation in Ukraine and the constant dangers facing civilians. The damage to infrastructure is likely to have long-term consequences for daily life and the regional economy. Attacks on industrial sites also point to the aggressor's strategic aims, potentially complicating recovery and stabilization efforts in the affected areas.
