According to UATV: On January 16, 2023, Russian forces launched a series of heavy attacks against populated areas in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions. In the Kharkiv region, the Russian army dropped an aerial bomb on a checkpoint near Kupiansk. This assault wounded two police officers and two soldiers. In 2025 alone, Russian attacks killed 2,514 civilians and injured over 12,000, representing a 31% increase from the previous year.
