Russia postpones missions to the Moon and Venus: new launch dates due to lack of funds

According to Korrespondent.net: Russia is once again facing funding problems for its space programs. President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Gennady Krasnikov reported that due to a lack of funds, some missions to the Moon and Venus had to be postponed.

'According to current plans, the lunar orbital station Luna-26 will be launched in 2028. Its main task is to select suitable landing sites'

Krasnikov indicated that the following lunar missions are planned for 2029 and 2030, as well as the launch of the orbital station Luna-29. The Venus mission 'Venus-D' is scheduled for 2036.

Earlier, Yuri Borisov reported different timelines for the missions, but due to financial difficulties, the plans have changed. It is also worth mentioning that the Luna-25 station of the Russian Moon mission malfunctioned in 2023, which became a subject of public discussion.

Russian space programs are again under threat due to financial problems, leading to changes in the plans for future missions to the Moon and Venus. Instability in funding may affect the further development of space research in Russia.
