Russians have advanced slightly in Kursk – ISW.


The Russian army has moved closer to the border with Ukraine in the Kursk region
According to the data from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Russian forces have occupied positions in Zaoleshentsi. Additionally, reports indicate a possible capture of Hontcharivka. Analysts from ISW claim that fierce battles are taking place in these areas, and Russian sources confirm the capture of settlements.
Other Russian sources state that the Russian army has also captured Zaoleshentsi, Hontcharivka, Rubanshchyna and continued to advance closer to Huyevyy and Oleshni. From there, assaults were underway in the north of Sumy region with attempts to capture settlements of Novenke and Zhuravka.
A spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine confirmed these allegations, reporting actions of small enemy landing groups in the north of Sumy region and detailing attempts by the Russian army to create a 'sanitary zone' in this area. Russian military bloggers also confirm successful advances from the east of Novenke to northern Basivka.
A spokesman for the Northern Operational Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine responded to these allegations, confirming that Ukrainian forces are in control of the situation at the international border in the Chernihiv region, while Russian reconnaissance-diversion groups have been operating there for quite some Time. Ukrainian defenders eliminated 1180 occupiers in the past day.
