Russians suddenly closed traffic on the Crimean bridge.
The Crimean bridge is now closed. This is reported by Russian media. The reasons for this decision are not provided. Drivers on the bridge are advised to remain calm and listen to the instructions of transport security personnel.
Previously, traffic through the Crimean bridge was periodically restricted due to attacks on it. The Security Service of Ukraine acknowledged its involvement in the first attack, which occurred on October 8, 2022. The bridge was attacked with a truck that exploded on it. This led to road collapses and a fire. The second attack occurred on July 17, 2023, when the bridge stopped interfering with attacks by sea drones. In the third attack, which took place in 2024, the bridge was not destroyed, but there were breaches. The commander of the Ukrainian Navy hinted at possible preparations for a new attack.
Currently, traffic across the Crimean bridge is closed. Transport personnel advise drivers to remain calm and follow instructions. There is information about a third attack on the bridge that occurred in 2024, but was not previously known. The Russian Federation reported damage to the bridge after the attack, but it was repaired. Ukrainian attacks on the bridge helped weaken Russian logistics.
