Russians in Ukraine are using drones with thermobaric charges – Associated Press.
With the help of drones with thermobaric charges, Russian troops have begun attacking Ukraine. These drones are disguised as explosive drones. According to an investigation by the Associated Press, these drones, both armed and unarmed, are produced at a factory in the 'Alabuga' economic zone in Tatarstan.
Thermobaric charges are explosives that create a volumetric explosion. They disperse flammable substances in aerosol form and cause a gas explosion. According to AP, such explosions can cause injuries to those not within the radius of the initial explosion. This can lead to damage to the lungs, brain, and eyes.
According to AP, the Russian military developed a plan for the attack on Ukraine called 'Operation False Target' at the end of 2022. This operation involved launching armed drones alongside unarmed explosive drones filled with fabric and foam to create a 'sense of complete uncertainty' among Ukrainian troops. These drones appear identical on radar.
The factory in 'Alabus' began producing explosive drones in early 2024 and currently releases about 40 unarmed drones and 10 armed ones daily. The Russian military started using drones with thermobaric charges this summer.
It is also worth noting that this morning, November 16, an explosion occurred in the town of Lyudinovo in the Kaluga region (RF) due to an air strike. The fuel base 'Kaluganeetproduct', which has been repeatedly attacked by drones, is located in this settlement.
Let us remind you that on the night of October 20 in Russia, air defense systems were activated in some regions due to the appearance of drones. This led to explosions and fires.
It should also be reminded that on the night of November 16, an enemy drone hit a high-rise building in Kyiv. This was reported by the head of the KMVA, Sergey Popko, on his Telegram channel.
