Russia struck a cafeteria at a training ground near Kropyvnytskyi: among the dead are foreign volunteers.
Ten foreign volunteers serving in the Ukrainian army were killed during a missile strike on a training camp near Kropyvnytskyi. As a result of the missile explosion that hit the cafeteria during lunch break, citizens of the USA, Colombia, Taiwan, Denmark, and other countries became victims. A total of 15 bodies were found and over 100 injured individuals had to be evacuated.
Details of the tragedy according to The New York Times
This is mentioned in an article by The New York Times.
Witnesses reported that after the explosion in the cafeteria, a fire broke out in the ammunition depot, leading to additional explosions. Previous incidents of shelling military training bases occurred without warnings, and in this case, there were also not enough first aid kits in the cafeteria.
Many foreign volunteers who joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine are veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, and new recruits from South America, particularly from Colombia, are attracted by high salaries.
It is noted that similar attacks on military training facilities have already occurred in various regions of Ukraine, including Yavoriv, Poltava, and Kropyvnytskyi, stating that such acts of aggression escalate the situation in the region and jeopardize the lives and safety of volunteers in military units.
