The couple communicated in Ukrainian, which provoked an aggressive reaction from the attacker. He began to threaten them in Russian, shouting insults and calls for physical violence. Their one-year-old son was also present in the carriage.

The attacker claimed he was a 'Russian man' and that his 'boys are in the trenches.' In the video, he can be heard shouting: 'We will kill you to the last!' He also accused the family of 'living on welfare' while he 'pays taxes.' He roughly demanded that they leave the carriage so that 'his child would not be traumatized - psychologically.'The wife of the victim, Olena Dudnyk, noted that the attacker not only threatened but also hit her husband. The incident was captured on video, showing all the threats and aggression. As a result of the fight, the police had to be called.

'The conflict arose because this character heard me speaking Ukrainian with my husband! My husband was born in Switzerland, has Swiss citizenship, and understands Ukrainian well as his parents are from Belarus. The video shows all his threats, manipulations, and aggression! Then there was a fight and a call to the police!' - the woman recounted.

When checking the attacker, it turned out that he had previously attacked another Ukrainian family at the Bern train station. He does not have Swiss citizenship and is currently subject to criminal proceedings. The Latvian State Security also began an investigation regarding his attempts to incite national hatred. His partner from Odesa became a refugee in Switzerland.
