Investigation Exposes Group Charging Fees to Plan Child Abductions from Mothers.
The 'Father Has the Right' Organization's Activities
According to TSN.ua: An investigation by the 'Khapuga.ua' project has revealed that the civic organization 'Father Has the Right' and its founder, Oleksandr Shvets, offer paid strategies for fathers to abduct children from their mothers through the court system. Shvets charges between 500 and 1,000 euros for a consultation. A psychological assessment required for court proceedings costs 600 euros, and the entire process can total 3,000 to 5,000 euros over three to four years. This case highlights troubling vulnerabilities in family court proceedings where custody battles can be exploited.
Victims and Questionable Expert Assessments
One victim of Shvets's practices is Natalia Bolshova, who experienced issues with his methods firsthand. She reported that the initial psychological evaluation for her case was conducted by an individual without a psychology degree, creating a major problem. A review by Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv confirmed that 'the methodologies used are not identified in scientific literature,' casting doubt on their effectiveness and legitimacy.
The issue extends beyond Bolshova's case. Psychologists Lyudmyla Fedosova, Tetiana Vakulych, and Anna Kozlova are also involved in cases against mothers, raising further questions about their work quality. Yurii Irkhin, a criminal psychologist and court expert, noted:
'Unfortunately, there is a shameful practice where any person with a higher psychological education can write any conclusion to order for any of the parties.' - Yurii Irkhin
Lyudmyla Hrydkovets expressed outrage at the situation, stating: 'I don't even want to look... people are paid, people work. But this, in my opinion, is not about the dignity of a psychologist, but about profiteering.' The conclusions from psychologists associated with 'Father Has the Right' often appear identical, raising suspicions about their authenticity.
Consequently, the activities of the 'Father Has the Right' organization face severe criticism due to the potential for systemic abuse and violations of the rights of children and mothers in custody hearings. The lack of proper qualifications among some specialists and the use of unverified methods jeopardize not only the legal aspects of cases but also the psychological well-being of those affected.
The situation surrounding 'Father Has the Right' underscores the broader problem of abuse within the field of psychological assessments and their influence on court outcomes. The organization's actions have alarmed professionals and human rights advocates, who warn of the risks associated with potential manipulation of the judicial system. This case may prompt a review of the norms and regulations governing psychologists' work in legal matters to better protect the rights of children and mothers.
