War in Ukraine – Latest Developments

According to TSN.ua: According to recent reports from the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, a disturbing practice is spreading within the Russian military: commanders are ordering the decapitation of dead soldiers instead of evacuating their bodies. Military sources describe this as having become a routine procedure in Russia’s armed forces.

Gruesome Orders and Their Consequences

Officers with the call signs ‘Fak’ and ‘Alladin’ are reportedly enforcing this brutal protocol. A documented case in the 12th Guards Tank Regiment involved a soldier being beheaded while carrying out such an order. This highlights how directives regarding the handling of the deceased can be both cruel and inhumane.

A Russian soldier recounted the command he received:

“He was ordered, basically, to bring back the head because it’s too hard to carry the whole body… cut off the head and bring it along with the documents.”
This statement underscores the absurdity and brutality that characterize military operations. Another serviceman, upon learning of the incident, remarked:
“You should have heard it—my ears curled up like tubes when he found out they had cut off the head of one of our guys.”

Estimates indicate that Russia has lost approximately 1.27 million troops in the war against Ukraine, reflecting the staggering human toll and scale of the conflict. These revelations expose not only the cruelty but also the moral decay afflicting the Russian army amid the war.

These reports underscore the severity of the humanitarian crisis on the front lines and point to an extreme level of violence faced by military personnel. The brutal practices described in the intelligence briefings could have far-reaching consequences, affecting not only soldiers but also civilians who continue to suffer from the war’s impact. Such incidents are part of a broader context in which ethical and moral norms are increasingly eroded during prolonged conflict.
