Romania Demands Russia Face Consequences for Lviv Strikes: What We Know So Far.
Romania Condemns Russian Attacks on Lviv
According to UATV: Romania has publicly denounced Russia’s strikes on Lviv and reaffirmed its backing for Ukraine in holding Moscow accountable for damage to cultural heritage sites. Romanian Foreign Minister Oana Țoiu stressed that Russia must be punished for these actions.
On March 24, Russian attack drones targeted Lviv, wounding at least 22 civilians. The resulting fire broke out in a building listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Țoiu stated that 'these deliberate acts constitute serious violations of international law and must lead to strict accountability.'
She further emphasized that 'attacks on cultural heritage sites, places of worship, and civilians in Lviv and other cities are unacceptable.' Romania continues to stand with Ukraine during this difficult period.
Global Response to the Aggression
This statement from Romania highlights the need for a strong international reaction to aggression that endangers both human lives and cultural treasures. Strikes on sites of global significance have raised alarm across the international community and could lead to additional sanctions against Russia.
As the conflict drags on, support from neighboring nations remains vital for Ukraine, helping to strengthen global solidarity in the fight against aggression.
