According to Novyny.live: As of January 2026, the average wage in Ukraine has risen by 22% to reach 27,500 UAH. This points to positive trends in the labor market, even as the total number of job vacancies has decreased by 6%. The highest salaries continue to be offered in major cities, particularly in Kyiv, where the average wage is 32,500 UAH. Lviv also shows a high earnings level at 30,000 UAH. Other cities, such as Uzhhorod, Dnipro, and Chernivtsi, have average wages at the following levels:
- Uzhhorod - 27,100 UAH
- Dnipro - 27,000 UAH
- Chernivtsi - 26,000 UAH
Pay Disparities Across Sectors
The lowest average wages were recorded in Sumy and Kherson, at 20,000 UAH. In contrast, the average salary for top managers and senior executives reaches 52,500 UAH, highlighting a significant pay gap across different sectors. Specialists in the real estate sector earn an average of 47,500 UAH, while educators receive an average of 21,000 UAH.
It is particularly noteworthy that the average salary for markup specialists in January 2026 stands at 24,500 UAH. This represents a dramatic increase of 145% compared to January 2025, when it was only 10,000 UAH. Furthermore, the number of job openings for markup specialists grew by 23%, which may indicate rising demand for this profession. This surge reflects a global trend where digital and technical skills are increasingly valued.
Thus, the Ukrainian labor market is showing some positive changes, specifically in wage growth, though significant regional disparities and pay differences between professions must be considered.
The rise in average wages may signal an improving economic situation in the country, but the drop in overall vacancies suggests potential difficulties in finding employment.
