The preservation season is in full swing - where to buy rock salt and what the prices are.
After the state enterprise 'Artemsalt', which supplied about 90% of the Ukrainian salt market, fell under occupation, it became difficult for Ukrainians to find Ukrainian salt in stores. Many supermarkets are setting aside popular rock salt for conservation purposes for Ukrainian housewives, offering instead products from Turkey. However, experts emphasize that such salt contains anti-caking agents that may negatively affect the quality of the preserves.
Prices for salt vary from store to store, but currently, the price of ordinary rock salt generally hovers around 13 hryvnias per kilogram. The hope for increasing the presence of Ukrainian salt in the market lies in the efforts to explore new salt deposits and plans to restore production at the Dolynske deposit.
