British tourists staged a mass brawl in Turkey: video of the aftermath.
Street fight in Alanya
According to The Sun: On September 1, a mass street brawl occurred in Alanya between British tourists and Turkish merchants. The conflict, which began as a small dispute, quickly escalated into a brutal fight on the street.
What began as a street conflict turned into a violent fight Other merchants rushed to help, but their attempts only worsened the situationThe fight started near a boutique on Atatürk Street, resulting in several injuries and one business closing down. Local media reports that the communication between tourists and the merchant quickly turned to violence. Six British individuals surrounded the merchant, began to strike him, and then brutally beat him with their hands and feet.
Video footage from surveillance cameras shows how tourists surround the merchant who is sitting on the stairs. Soon he gets hit and falls to the ground, while other merchants attempt to intervene.
However, the intervention of other sellers only worsened the situation, turning it into a large-scale brawl. When it seemed that the aggression had subsided, one group began to attack again.
The situation was exacerbated by British tourists picking up sticks and stones from the road and throwing them at the merchants, who defended themselves with umbrellas and makeshift shields. Cars continued to drive past despite the rising tension.
The tension peaked when the British, feeling an improvement in the situation, fled to a nearby hotel seeking refuge. Both sides sustained injuries, and all events were captured on surveillance cameras.
The police arrived at the scene and began a criminal investigation. Video of the brawl quickly spread on social media, but it has not yet been determined what sparked such a surge of violence.
The establishment was closed for three days while investigations continue. The incident occurred in Alanya, a popular region of Antalya that attracts many tourists, including from the UK and other European countries.
This conflict occurred after British tourists were filmed being brutally beaten by security guards at a popular restaurant in Marmaris in June.
