Poland warned Russia over airspace violations: what threatens.
According to inkorr.com: The Foreign Minister of Poland, Radoslaw Sikorski, issued a stern warning to Russia over gross violations of airspace. During an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council, he stated:
'If another missile or other object enters our space, whether intentionally or accidentally, and if it is shot down, and debris falls on NATO territory, don’t come here to complain. You have been warned,' the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry addressed representatives of Russia, as reported by Polsat.
The situation escalated due to an incident where Russian aircraft intruded into Estonian airspace, leading to the first-ever UN Security Council meeting held at Estonia's request.
Poland and NATO's response to the violations
Previously, the Polish Foreign Minister noted that the intrusion of Russian drones into Polish airspace is characterized as a deliberate attack. In response to these actions, Poland and its allies activated Article 4 of the North Atlantic Treaty for consultations. Representatives from several countries and the European Union joined forces to address violations of international law.
The decisive warning from the Polish Foreign Ministry regarding possible new violations of airspace serves as a clear signal of the country's territorial security and its readiness to take measures to protect its borders and sovereignty.
Russia's actions attract the attention of the international community, as airspace violations can be perceived as a threat to the security of all Europe. By activating NATO mechanisms, Poland demonstrates its determination to protect its interests and security in the region, indicating the seriousness of the situation and the possibility of further expanding military cooperation with allies.
