Syrsky reported on the situation in the Kursk region.
In the suburbs of the Russian city of Sudzha and nearby, fighting continues, reports 'Glavkom' citing the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky.
According to him, the enemy is using assault units of airborne troops and special operations forces to break through our defenses. They are trying to push us out of the Kursk region of the Russian Federation and shift the fighting to the territory of the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. In carrying out these actions, the enemy has suffered and continues to suffer significant losses in the Kursk region.
Syrsky reported that since the beginning of the Kursk operation, the total losses of the Russian troops amount to over 54.9 thousand people, as well as about 2.1 thousand units of military equipment and weapons. He also noted that the aviation has carried out an unprecedented number of strikes in their own region, leading to almost complete destruction of the city of Sudzha.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized that his priority is to save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers. To this end, certain measures are being taken, including maneuvering to more advantageous positions, using drones, and artillery fire means.
As of 6:00 PM, eight enemy assault actions took place in the Kursk direction, however, Ukrainian troops continue to hold the defense in the Kursk region.
As previously reported, Ukrainian troops are likely leaving the Kursk region after a series of strikes that incapacitated dozens of vehicles.
However, the city of Sudzha is not yet under full control of the Russian Federation.
