Five heads of regional prosecutors' offices and the head of one of the specialized prosecutors' offices in the defense sector have submitted resignation letters. These are the heads of Zaporizhzhia, Rivne, Ternopil, Kharkiv, and Cherkasy regional prosecutors' offices and the specialized prosecutor's office in the Southern Region's defense sector. This was reported by Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin.

As Kostin noted, all the aforementioned officials received increased pensions due to their years of service, appointed by court decision. A service investigation is ongoing regarding the legitimacy of prosecutors acquiring disability status and the calculation of pensions for prosecutors.

Also today, the Office of the Prosecutor General held the first meeting of an independent commission to select candidates for inclusion in the personnel reserve for filling managerial positions in regional and district prosecutors' offices. The commission will evaluate the professional qualities and reputation of the candidates.

Changes to the law on the prosecutor's office

In addition, the Council of Prosecutors supported amendments to the law of Ukraine "On the Prosecutor's Office," which are intended to make it impossible for prosecutors to receive pensions simultaneously with salaries.

«According to these proposals, pension payments for years of service to prosecutors will be made only after their dismissal from work. That is, based on the principle: either salary or pension. The relevant developments will be submitted to the legislative initiative entity,» he explained.

Prosecutors with disabilities

Recall that, according to preliminary data from the service investigation, a high percentage of prosecutors with disability status was found in the Cherkasy and Khmelnytskyi regions.

Thus, in the Cherkasy region, 60 prosecutors from the prosecutor's offices have disability status. This accounts for 27.4% of the total number of working prosecutors there. 59 of them received it before the full-scale invasion. Meanwhile, in the Khmelnytskyi region, 61 prosecutors have this status, or 29.8% of the total number. 50 received disability groups before the full-scale invasion.

In the rest of the prosecutors' offices and the Office of the Prosecutor General, this figure does not exceed 10%. In particular, in 18 prosecutors' offices, the share of people with disability groups is less than 5% of the total number, in another 11 prosecutors' offices – from 5 to 10%.

As known, about over 50 prosecutors in Khmelnytskyi, led by regional prosecutor Oleksiy Oliynyk, obtained disability status, likely through a corruption scheme by Tetiana Krupa in the MSEC. This was reported by journalist Yuriy Butusov after conducting an investigation.

Later, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine signed an order to conduct a service investigation in connection with the dissemination of information about the receipt of disability groups by 50 prosecutors of the Khmelnytskyi regional prosecutor's office.

As reported by "Glavkom," the head of the Khmelnytskyi regional center for medical and social expertise (MSEC) Tetiana Krupa and her son, head of the regional Pension Fund Oleksandr Krupa, were exposed in illegal enrichment. During searches, they found nearly $6 million in cash.

On October 7, the Pechersk district court in Kyiv selected a preventive measure for the head of the Khmelnytskyi regional center for medical and social expertise, Tetiana Krupa. She was sent into custody for 60 days (until December 3) with the possibility of posting a bail amount of over 500 million UAH.

By the way, the Ministry of Health conducted checks and canceled the conclusions on disability establishment for 74 conscripts by the Khmelnytskyi MSEC.
