Defender of Mariupol tops the Top-100 Ukrainians according to a renowned magazine.
Indomitable defender: Mariupol's defender Roman Gorodensky topped the ranking by NV
The editorial staff of the NV publication compiled a list of 100 Ukrainians who have become a proud example for our country. This list is divided into six categories: 'Military and Volunteers', 'Society', 'Public Figures', 'Culture', 'Business', and 'Sports'. And it is Mariupol's defender, marine infantryman Roman Gorodensky, who took first place in this list as a symbol of courage and military service of Ukraine.
NV's chief editor Vitaliy Sych noted that it is precisely the Ukrainian soldiers, as a collective image of the Defense Forces, who should be in first place on the list, as they defend the country on various fronts. Roman Gorodensky, who fought for the Illich Iron and Steel Works in Mariupol, survived captivity and the amputation of his arms and legs, becoming a true symbol of resilience and faith in Ukraine. His path back to military service and helping his comrades was ensured by the 'Heart of Azovstal' project by Rinat Akhmetov.
Roman embodies the resilience and heroism of thousands of Ukrainians. It is people like Roman who build our future: today they hold the front, and tomorrow they will uphold the state, restore it, and uplift the economy.
The company 'Metinvest', which is involved in Roman's rehabilitation, regularly supports the ratings of the NV publication. The general director of the group, Yuriy Ryzhenkov, emphasized that the greatest value for the country and any company is the people who work for victory.
The ranking also included Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, volunteer Serhiy Prytula, journalist Yuriy Butusov, writer Serhiy Zhadan, tennis player Elina Svitolina, and many other outstanding Ukrainians.
The company 'Metinvest' has previously been recognized in the ranking of the best employers for its veteran program, which confirms its commitment to humanitarian values and support for the heroes of our country.
