Juri But: Biography

Date of Birth:05.09.1967

Place of Birth, Education. Born in Bachmatsch in the Chernihiv Oblast. In 1988, he graduated from the Moscow Higher General Command School of the Armed Forces of the RSFSR. In 1994, he graduated from the Law Faculty of the Military Red Banner Academy of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation (now - Military Academy of Economics, Finance and Law of the Armed Forces of the RF). From 2002 to 2003, he completed his postgraduate studies at the National Academy of State Administration under the President of Ukraine. Doctor of Law (1999).

Career. 1988-1990 - Platoon leader of a motorized infantry regiment of the Southern Group in Hungary.

1990-1991 - Platoon leader of a motorized infantry regiment in Luhansk.

1994-1999 - Lecturer, senior lecturer at the Military Academy of Strategic Missile Forces named after F. Dzerzhinsky of the RF Ministry of Defense (Moscow).

2000-2002 - Director of the Center for International Projects and Cooperation of the Russian Academy of State Service under the President of the RF (Moscow).

Since 2002, he has lived in Ukraine.

2004-2007 - Director of LLC United Consultants Ukraine (Kiev).

Since 2005 - Lecturer at the Department of Civil and Legal Disciplines of the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts.

Political Career. In 2007, during the extraordinary parliamentary elections, But headed the staff of the Chernihiv regional organization of the People's Self-Defense movement, which has been led by Yuriy Lutsenko since its inception. He became a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the list No. 61 of the Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense Bloc. Member of the VR Committee on Justice Issues.

On March 1, 2011, he switched from the NU-NS faction to the Party of Regions faction.

Non-partisan.

Family. Juri But is married. He has a son born in 1994.
