Russia deploys a second echelon in Hulyaipole: how the situation on the front has changed

According to ТСН: The occupiers managed to enter the territory of the city of Hulyaipole in the Zaporizhzhia region. Currently, the enemy is trying to advance further and push the units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine out of this settlement.

Confrontation in Hulyaipole

This was reported on air by the spokesman for the Defense Forces of southern Ukraine, Vladyslav Voloshyn.

According to the spokesman, the enemy is using a tactic of saturating the city with manpower, even shifting units from other sections of the front line.

"The enemy is trying to establish reinforcement groups so that these groups free up assault troops who could continue their assault actions," Voloshyn explained.

The main goal of the enemy is to secure positions using the infantry of the 'second echelon' so that the most combat-ready assault groups can move forward without being distracted by maintaining territories. The situation in Hulyaipole remains extremely tense and dynamic. Ukrainian soldiers have conditionally divided the city into sectors for defense.

"In each of these sectors, we have our positions; the enemy cannot push us out. We are conducting both search-strike actions and actions to eliminate these groups," the spokesman noted.

The military emphasized that at this stage, Hulyaipole has practically turned into a zone of continuous combat operations.

"Simply put, Hulyaipole is a large gray zone where battles are being fought," he concluded.

Strategic Challenges

Military analyst and head of the 'Come Back Alive' fund Taras Chmut noted in an interview that Russia is deliberately increasing the number of 'hot spots' on the front to exhaust the Defense Forces of Ukraine. He emphasized that due to a lack of strategic reserves, the Ukrainian army is forced to constantly react to the enemy's actions, while personnel shortages, declining mobilization, and losses complicate the situation and create a risk of breakthrough in defense on certain sections.

The situation in Hulyaipole indicates an increase in tension on the front. Enemy attacks have become a frequent occurrence, forcing Ukrainian forces to remain alert. Russia's strategic activity may indicate an intention to create new 'hot spots', diverting attention from the main areas. This requires efforts from Ukrainian military to hold positions and stabilize the situation.
