The Balearic Islands have been particularly hard hit, with rain and winds reaching 100 km/h posing serious risks.

Flight delays at Palma Airport in Majorca have created chaos for passengers awaiting their departure.

Tourists from cities like Palma, Barcelona, Granada, Ibiza, Paris, and London have been stranded due to numerous cancellations and delays.

Spain has also issued orange weather alerts as more rain and a drop in temperatures are expected.

The Balearic government has activated an emergency action plan in response to the situation.

Authorities urge citizens to "exercise extreme caution."

“The situation is being monitored continuously, and all necessary precautions are being coordinated,” said a government spokesperson.

Emergency services also strongly recommend "avoiding car travel unless absolutely necessary.”

Weather in the country continues to deteriorate due to heavy rains

Of the already recorded 48 incidents in Majorca, including in Palma, Calviá, and Algaida, basements and public roads have been flooded.

“Do not park your vehicles on bridges, sidewalks, or near rivers,” warns the government message.

The official meteorological service (Aemet) forecasts worsening weather for Tuesday and Wednesday, with more heavy rain and squalls.
